Great list! I'll get adding right away :) One way I use twitter linguistically that I find very few others do, is to tweet the same message in several languages. So my twitters are in English, Irish, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Esperanto. Feel free to add any of those to your list if you like!

Matthew; the key for not annoying your readers is to have completely separate accounts for each language!! I only ever tweet in English in my English twitter, so non linguists can follow me without getting confused.

It's true that each tweet takes 5-10 minutes depending on the vocabulary I use (would be much less if I wasn't tweeting in 7 languages!) I use pidgin to handle multiple twitter logins (in Windows Thwirl is quite good for multiple accounts) and enable spell checking for each language individually. I tweet naturally in English, and then try to find a natural sounding translation in the other languages. It's an excellent way of maintaining fluency!! I literally have to write and keep my vocabulary up to date in each language every day! Since it's more time consuming, it also forces me to tweet less often (only once or twice a day max), which I think filters the quality. Otherwise I might have just spammed my twitter account every 10 minutes (I've had to un-follow people doing that because they take over my feed).

It also lets me have different networks of followers and "followees". Thanks for following me, I'll keep an eye on your progress! :)

Great! That's a fantastic effort, I'll add them all under 'I'.

I've been wondering about twitter and languages since I started tweeting 6 or 7 months ago. I went through a phase of tweeting everything in 2 or 3 languages but it became quite time consuming and I started wondering what effect it might have on people reading. I might start again.
